Welcome to HavaHug Havanese Puppies! Michigan breeder of the most beautiful AKC Havanese dogs and the sweetest, cutest, happiest little havanese puppies ever!
We are responsible breeders. Our havanese are a very special and beloved part of our family. Our puppies are sold with AKC limited registration, meaning they are not sold with breeding rights and are to be spayed or neutered at the appropriate age. Our havanese are health tested, under veterinary care and we do skip heats. All of our pups are raised in our home, central to family activity, knowing human touch, sights, sounds and smells from their very first day! We are a homeschooling family of 6, so all of our havanese receive loads of constant love, attention and human interaction! They are raised in our home, cuddled, and pampered as a puppy should be! Your puppy will come to you with their AKC registration papers, vaccination and worming record, having received a thorough vet exam and our signed Health Guarantee! Your puppy will be well loved and up to date on all vaccinations and wormings, well socialized, comfortable with children and content with the commotion of everyday family life!
Our havanese are loved, pampered, and nurtured. Our puppies are born into a warm and loving environment, as can be seen here in this beautiful, and somewhat graphic, video taken during the delivery of KitKat's past litter. HavaHug Havanese Puppy Birth
We understand responsible breeders to be the keepers of the pure breeds, upholding the breed standards and unique characteristics. We adore the havanese traits and, as havs were nearly extinct a few short decades ago, we take this responsibility seriously. We have genetically recessive chocolate havanese and they are all AKC registered with pedigree... each having records of at least 4-5 generations. This is important to us as we seek to ensure genetic diversity and that there will be no inbreeding in our lines.
Our havanese are beloved members of our family and we simply couldn't imagine life without them. We are raising our pups to be both physically and emotionally sound. We do not believe this can be achieved by raising dogs in outdoor kennels, barns or backyards. Dogs give love and crave to be loved in return. Like a child, they require nurturing and attention and we give it to them. Your puppy will come to you pre-spoiled, well socialized, up to date on vaccinations and wormings AND experienced in litter training from 3 weeks of age.
We begin training early. The Havanese are known for their intelligence and desire to please, making training quite simple. Litter training will begin for your pup as early as 3 weeks, with a pine pellet litter pan flush beside their bedding. This works easily because of your puppy's natural instinct to avoid eliminating in their sleeping area. Having learned this early, will make your pup's transition into your home much easier. This reduces stress and benefits everyone, as a smooth home transition aids in family bonding. We have found that rabbit pans, (found in farm supply stores) fit perfectly inside expens as litter pans, as seen here...
If you feel a HavaHug Havanese puppy is right for your family, please visit our Available Puppies page. Choose your puppy or choose to place a wait list deposit on an upcoming litter. I will continue to send you pictures and videos of your puppy, until they are ready to go home. As a member of the HavaHug family, we invite you to join our new Havahug Havanese Facebook Page for updates, fun pictures and videos documenting the daily lives of our pups! Also, if you have questions, please take a moment to look over our FAQ Page and, of course, feel free to Contact Me with any further questions!
Sincerely,
Jessica Clark

A Cancer Sniffing Havanese
Did you know a dog's sense of smell is 100,000 times that of a human? As such, they can smell when something is "different" in our body chemistry. Studies have shown this to be the case with cancer cells as well as low blood sugar. Some dogs are trained specifically to do so and some just do it naturally! ...This story warmed my heart. Enjoy!
